Re: children alone

To my knowledge, there is no set age. I can think of several reasons you may be asking this question, so I will try to address each of them.

If you know of a situation where a child is being left alone and it concerns you, you could make a referral to your local Social Services agency to have an investigation done to see if their is neglect. You do not have to give your name if you don't want to.

If you, yourself, are considering leaving your child alone and are concerned about legal action againstyou, the only reason I can think of that such action would occur would be if someone reported you to Social Services for neglect.

Other than that, it would be up to the discretion of the parent as to whether the child was able to take care of himself and whether he would be safe from outsiders if he was home alone.
