Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Co-Habitation Law

I want to know if it is ''illegal'' for a man & woman to live together (romantically) in NC?

I'm in the process of a divorce. My husband has made several requests that I agree to having no male (friends or boyfriends) stay at my personal home, unless/until I re-marry. I had this clause removed from our separation agreement, because I don't believe he should be able to control my living situation. I don't see what his problem is, especially since WE lived together before we were married.

He claims that if he asks the judge, he has to put it into the final divorce summary.

Is this true?

Re: Co-Habitation Law

Technically, yes, cohabitation is a criminal offense. However, this law is hardly used anymore. Half of NC would be in jail. I hardly think the judge would insist on the clause about your living situation after the divorce into the divorce decree.
