Criminal communication
Can the partner of a recently separated individual be sued for any type of civil action? And what does the term ''criminal communication'' mean? Thanks.

Yes. North Carolina still recognizes the "heart balm" remedies of alienation
of affections and criminal conversation (adulterous
intercourse).
The spouse who believes his/her mate has been wooed by another
during the course of the marriage and led to
leave the marriage can sue the paramour. I have
a case like that right now. If there are phone
records and secret meetings with
plans about running away, and they lead to
infidelity and running away with children and property
someone may have a problem.
Good luck. DG
