Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

desertion

I have two children,one is 14 the other is 22 with a 2 year old baby,she just moved home and is not working,no car no money and I can no longer stand it.Would I be charged with desertion if I moved 2 miles to live on my houseboat?I have been married 23 years.

Re: desertion

Probably not desertion but you will be responsible for child support for the 14 yo. Possible alimony issues, too. You have no obligation to support teh 22 yo but you do for the 14 yo.
