Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina
My divorce was in Ga 8 years ago. I moved to NC 9 months ago and remarried. My ex has been seeing our kids every other weekend and even though the order doesn't say to , I have to provide all the kids clothes when they go because he has never bought them clothes for his house. My kids are 8 and 10 and have also been in counseling for three years because their dad has been verbally abusive to them. Even though the divorce decree says he is to pick them up at my house, I meet him half way. But he is no longer content with that. He is trying to force me to move back to Ga saying I had no right to take them out of state without his permission. But my divorce papers never said I had to get his permission to move and it didn't bother him until the kids had to make up snow days by going to school half a day on Saturdays. He has threatened me with going back to court and taking the kids away. He pays the minimum child support of only $200 a child, but recently bought a new Hummer. I don't know if it is a gas issue or if he is just mad that his visitation was interrupted because of school twice now. My husband says I should stop meeting him half way and stop sending him clothes. And to let him take us back to court. Our kids don't want to go to their dads but I don't think a judge will listen to them. I don't know what to do..

You need a NC family law attorney. I think NC has jurisdiction over the visitation now, since the kids have been here with you for more than 6 months, so you need to talk to a NC domestic lawyer in your county.
