Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina
Im trying to get a divorce from my husband , he and I got married 8/1/2005 6 weeks later he left after the birth of our daughter. he came back 3 months later only to get his stuff where I ended up pregnant with our second child. He left that night and has not been around from that time. It has been 6 years and no one will tell me where he is living or how to contact him. I simply want my divorce, I know he has been engaged 3 different times in the past 6 years to 3 different females. I want my divorce as soon as I can however if I cant find him to get him to sign the divorce papers how do I get my divorce done with out getting a lawyer! Im a single mother of two toddlers and I dont have extra money for a lawyer. I live 5 hours away from where he and I had lived and Im just trying to get my divorce so I can move on with my life and not be tied to a man who walked out on his wife and children for drugs.
thanks for anyone who can help,
Stephanie

If you don't know where your spouse is you can still get a divorce you will simply need to serve him by what is know as a legal publication. You should not try and do this yourself - you will just muck it up. The lame 'o excuse of I can't afford an attorney is simply untrue. Our firm does this type of divorce for a fee of $100. You will have Court cost/ fees of approx. $245 and a publication fee which varies form area to area. Essentially you will end up spending around $500ish to get this done. If you would like our firm to represent you - call us at (910) 333-9679.
