If a husband leaves his wife and the electricity contract is in his name, can he turn the power off? There are two children in the home.

Re: Electric power contracts

Can and should are different questions.

While the electric company may let him, he should not cancel the electricity. A husband has a duty to provide for the support of a dependent spouse and by affirmitively withdrawing his support, he may be ordered to pay the wife's attorney fees.
