Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina
Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 26
I need help. I am defending myself within a custody suit. A private investigator was hired to watch me and I do not know the exact law for interrogatories. I found a Motion Cover Sheet. Do I use this to obtain my discoveries? Could the other lawyer keep information from me based on the fact that I did not ask correctly? The other lawyer tells me that I haven't asked to the proper specifics so he will not disclouse. What is the proper form to use and where can i find the list of interrogatories? Thank you so much!

Re: Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 26
You do not need the Federal Rules as this is a state custody matter. You need to get a copy of the NC Rules of Procedure. You need to review the whle gamut of discovery issues. There is no form per se. The cover sheet is just that, a cover sheet. To be filed with your discovery motion. This could be tricky for the novice. However, I may have an alternative solution to retaining an attorney to do your custody. If you would like more information, please e-mail me and I will send it out to you.
Either way, good luck.
