Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

I filed for divorce in NC in march of this year. I had located my spouse, but he was again in rehab when the papers arrived, and didn't sign for them him self. Now he has disappeared again, and I really want my divorce. I contacted my lawyer, and she said it would cost me another 400.00 to file by publication. I cannot afford this, I need help.

Unless you can find him so that papers can be served on him, you have no choice but to serve him by publication.
