Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Foster Parents' Rights

We were long term (5 years) foster parents to a child

who has been placed back into her birth home. Do we

have any rights to visitation? If so what is the

statute of limitations?

Re: Foster Parents' Rights

Since you have a long standing relationship with the child, you may have standing to pursue visitation rights. As far as I know without doing research, you could ask for visitation any time before the child reaches 18. Some actions for visitation, custody change, etc. can only be raised if there is an ongoing open case involving the children. Please check with an attorney in your area to see if you can raise the action at this time.
