Homseschooling
My son is 16. He has had a hard time in school ever since he was little. I finally had the chance to put him in homeschool-by a certified homeschool teacher. My ex husband and I have been divorced for 14 years. I have primary physical custody of my son. In the agreement I can make the choices when he is with me. It also states that he is to pay child support until he graduates or is 18, which ever comes later. My ex hasnt talked to me in a year and he insists that his new wife do the communicating, which goes no where since she is hateful and it always ends up in a barrage of nasty emails. My questions are: can he stop paying child support because he is being homeschooled? And do
I have to communicate with his wife since it causes so much strife? Thnaks

Until the minor child graduates from high school or attains the age of 18 (whichever is later) or your ex obtains an order terminating his child support obligation (e.g., if the child is not making satisfactory progress support can be terminated early), then your ex must pay.
As to communications with his new wife, there is nothing that requires you to deal with the wife. She has no duties with regard to your child. However, it is better for the child if everyone can get along. Some judges in North Carolina might order a parenting coordinator if the case is a high conflict one that would require the assistance of a PC. Some judges might also order a cooperative parenting class to help the parties better communicate.
