Well, you've got a civil invasion of privacy suit at least, if you can prove he placed the camera - which can be notoriously difficult, unless he is a bumbling idiot. Also, possibly some criminal charges - again, if you can prove he did it. I had a client who had this problem. Luckily, she discovered the camera immediately. Unluckily, we were unable to prove who did it. Not wanting my client to have to simply bend over and take it, I had to think outside the box a bit and I handled the matter by suggesting my client place a small monitor in front of the camera that played the 2 Girls & a Cup video on a repeating loop (if you don't know what 2 Girls & a Cup is - trust me, 'disgustingly nasty' are the two most appropriate adjectives). My client said it would have been worth him planting it if only she could have seen his face the first time he checked it. Even though we couldn't sue or have the guy prosecuted, I was able to create a humorous sort of revenge aspect that to this day still makes my client laugh about the incident instead of feeling victimized. In retrospect, I don't think I charged enough for that case - but I digress.
