Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina
My husband let the state and I have had the kids since he left. Seen them once since he left a year ago and has been 8 months since he sent money for support. He didn't send anything for the holidays. Do I need to get a lawyer for my divorce and custody or can I just file with me local court house?

Unless you know exactly what you are doing, filing your own divorce is not a good idea especially when our firm can likely handle it for less than you can do it yourself. As to the custody issue - it doesn't seem like you really need to go through the expense of that at least not right now but if you want that resolved - you definitely need an attorney. As to the child support just bee bop down to your local child support enforcement office and they will get that resolved for you either for free or at very low cost. Best of luck!
