I need joint custody of my son

I live in Dayton Oh and my ex girlfriend took our son to Nc and recently filed for custody of our son. She is neglectant to him and is not a good mother.I want to have him at least 6 months of the year. Can that happen?

You're probably going to have to hire an attorney down there, and make your case to that court. I assume that she has been down there long enough for that state to obtain jurisdiction over the child. The court is required to do what is in the best interests of the child, but be aware that it is not going to be very willing to order a half a year split custody arrangement with 1000 miles between parents.
