Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina
I live in North Carolina and just got married on the 15th of May. Can I have my marriage annulled? My husband is never home, he works 7 days a week not that I don't appreciate it, but the loneliness is getting to me and I am questioning why I ever got married. I have 2 teenagers that are mine and who adore my husband. I just don't know what to do and if I had known it was gonna be like this when we got married I would have never have gotten married. It was not this bad before we were married. I find myself crying all the time and wanting out. Can you please help me? I really just don't know what to do.

Can you get an annulment? It depends. You can only get an annullment if: you are too closely related to your spouse; if you or your spouse is under 16; if your spouse is already married to someone else when he marries you; if your spouse is impotent; if one of you lacked mental capacity; or maybe if fraud was involved. Other than that, you need to get a divorce. You might benefit from therapy/marital counseling if he wants to try and work things out. If you have your mind made up, better to know now. One of you has to leave the marital home and be separated for at least 1 year before you can file.
