Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Last month I was awarded 615 child support for my child that is over a year old. Her father refuses to meet her and we have not ever received anything. He currently has 2 other child support orders. One for 173 and one for 215. He filed a motion to have it modified and decrease mine. My child support was much higher than the others because the other moms are enrolled members and recevive per capita and I do not. Also, I am the only one with other children in the home. I have 2 others. We have to go through Tribal court because the father is enrolled but they seem to follow all state guidelines. I was told more than likely they will take his income and say there are 3 children and divide support evenly between us. I am worried because I have a 400 child care bill that the other moms do not have. He is involved in the other childrens life and sees them although he doesn't have custody but he is willing to baby sit anytime he is needed for them. What do I do to keep my support

If the decision is based on NC law it will be a simple matter of plugging income info and number of children (his not yours) into a very simple formula and out pops a child support figure. There may be some other factors that might have a minor impact but bottom line is - it will never be the amount you want it to be. Also, if he is a dead beat dad who doesn't wanna pay you squat and if he is even halfway intelligent, there are things he can do on his end that could end up causing all the moms to receive little or nothing. Good luck!
