Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Currently I'm the only parent listed on my child's birth certificate. On yesterday my 3 year old met her father and his wife of two years for the first time. He has requested a DNA test which will then allow him all rights to my daughter as I do. I would like sole custudy and allow them visitation only. Should I have attorney prior to the DNA and petition the court for custoday.

NC favors joint custody among the parents. You absolutely need to get an attorney ASAP if you want sole custody as it will be a process to get this.
