Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina
Ex not paying child support, dental fees, & attorney fees
My ex husband was laid off in June 2005. So he had his child support lowered to 72 dollars a week for our two daughters. He hasn't paid this in over a month now. So 5 checks behind. All other checks before this were never for the correct amount either. Also he is suppose to pay over half of the dental fees from early 2005 that add up to quite a bit. I haven't seen this money either. In July it will be a year since i've given him the dental receipts. In 2004 he tried to get full custody of our two daughters and i was forced to pay 1,200 dollars for a lawyer, the judge ruled he would pay me back 1,000 dollars of this because he lost the case of course. So all this money he owes me and i've seen none of it. So my question is, this summer he is suppose to get our two daughters for 2 months. Do I have to let him have them, if he isn't paying child support and other money he owes me? If he isn't keeping up his end of the deal, do I have to?
TIA

You should continue to follow the Court's order until the Court changes it. You may find help getting your child support order enforced by looking at the resources on this web site:
