When separating, am I entitled to half of thrift savings plan or only half of the amount it grew since the time my husband and I were married if it existed before the marriage?

You are only entitled to the portion of the TSP (thrift savings plan) earned while you were married. Contributions made by your spouse before marriage to you or after the date of separation from you don't count.
