I would like to know what my legal right are to enter my home when I need to retrieve items of mine. I voluntarily left my home at my wife's request

If there is a separation (judicial order, written separation or a separation where you have been instructed not to return) and you re-enter the property without your wife's consent, you could be arrested and charged with domestic criminal trespass. It does not matter whether you own the house or not.
Some police officers will not enforce this but this is the law.
