If your son has left NC 2 years ago, then NC is no longer the child's home state unless there was a prior custody order entered here. Why are you only doing something about this now? Did you just learn of your son's whereabouts? Talk to a family attorney regarding your situation. If there are no NC prior custody orders, then you will need to go to whatever state your son is living in (if outside of NC) or whatever county your son is living in if he is still in NC.
