Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

my son was taken from me after false claims of drug abuse. my ex husband was given custody and i was given visitation. since then my ex has given our son to his mother (childs grand mother) and moved 5 hours away with his pregnant girlfriend who is married to someone else. he sees our son for less then 12 hours ever other weekend. sometimes less. he says he is going to take our son to live with him at the end of the year. he has never been the primary care giver. his girlfriend is 5 months pregnant and is disabled and cannot work and is an admitted recovering drug addict. i own a home, two cars, and his brother and sister (from another relationship) live with myself and my husband. we live in the same town as the grandmother, and can provide for him and want the father and his family to see him whenever they want. i dont want child support. i can keep him in the school he is in and everything. the grandmother that the child has lived with has no rights to the child but refuses to give him up without a fight. what can i do? do i have a chance in regaining custody? it was never proven that i have ever done drugs. just allegations. the father is in the military and has been engaged 3 times in a year to 3 different woman not counting the one he lives with.
