Department of childrens services doesn't want to do a home study and the judge ordered one. How can I go about to get them to do what they are obigated to do? I only have until the 29th. of this month to get the home study done or my nephew will be put in states custody.. Please help me..

Then get a private service to do the home study and do no not rely on DSS. You will have to pay for it. Did the judge specifically order a home study or did he order DSS to do a home study? It makes a difference. Read the language in the order. Unless DSS is ordered to do it, you can do it. There may be a list of agencies which are approved by the court. If DSS is ordered, then they can be forced to comply with the court's order.

Get a juvenile lawyer to assist you with this.
