Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Uncontested Divorces

My boyfriend is in the process of a divorce. Everything as far as custody, allimony, and property have been settled. He received a court date reminder in the mail for a uncontested divorce court date. What does that mean and can she fight or delay the divorce from going through, ie. not showing up to court that day or asking for a continueance?

Re: Uncontested Divorces

If the court date is scheduled for an uncontested divorce, the only thing that should happen would be the Judge signs off on it. He should only grant a continuance for a legitimate reason.

This is not to be considered legal advice and no attorney/client relationship has been formed.
