Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

My wife and I were appointed supervisors of visitation for her grandson on their divorce. He has a terrible temper. We do not want this responsibility. We are old and my wife is very sick and it is adversely affecting her health. We weren't asked to do this, just appointed. Her grandson is 23. Can we legally just refuse to do this supervision? We can't afford a lawyer. We are on fixed income. We live in North Carolins Her grandson has supervised visitation every 2nd weekent from Friday at 5 to sunday at 6 oclock.

This ain't communist Russia, Of course you can refuse if you were appointed without being consulted or asked. However, it sounds more like you agreed to it and once you got into things it turned out to be more than you bargained for. If this is the case, you may have a tougher time bailing on tantrum boy. All that said if grandsons temper is the problem there are probably lots of solutions to the problem growing in your back yard. Just make little temper boy go out and cut his own switch off of a tree and go to work on him - cures 'terrible tempers' in as little as one application!
