Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

My wife and I have recently separated (her decision) and she has threatened to do some of the following...we live in NC, she wants to move 2 hours away to SC and live with her mother who was a terrible mother to her when she was young (allowed drinking, smoking, partying in her house when she was 13). She wants to move to Texas where she has family. She has also threatened to take kids to Texas for entire summer. She has kicked me out of house. I am considering going back home and making her deal with it. We were both verbally abusive, however she struck me in the face the day I left in front of my daughter. She is a stay at home mother of 4. We have a 6 year old, 2 year old, and 5 mo old twins. She is great with the twins, however she plays around on her phone all day and our 2 year old has gotten into a bag of cough drops, jumped into the bathtub fully clothed without my wife knowing for almost 5 minutes and has stuff headphones into the wall outlet. Concerned that she can't handle all 4 kids. Thoughts/advice?

Get yourself stable housing and speak to a family law attorney and file for custody to try and prevent her from leaving with the children.
