Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina
This will sound silly, but, I am serious.
In a domestic/family dispute, a family member comes onto your property looking to cause trouble; always verbal trouble, not physical.
You ask them nicely to leave. They do not. You do not want to hurt them, just make them go away.
It is cold outside. You wet them down good with a water hose. Is that considered assault?

Yes. But assuming they heard and understood you when you asked them to leave - they are guilty of trespass.
