Legal Question in Civil Litigation in North Carolina

How do me and my partner get our case dropped early, we had a drunkin spat and we both got put in jail, but neither one is pressing charges against the other. I am considered the defendent, and i told them that i would not press charges. But they still took me to jail also. Thanks for any advice. This was in n.c.

Unfortunately, you need to hire a criminal defense attorney. The decision to drop the charges once filed is completely up to the DA, you don't have the power at this point to decide not to press charges.
