Legal Question in Civil Litigation in North Carolina
I am wanting to sue someone for not paying me back a loan. I loaned him 374.30 in 2008 and he has not made any effort to repay me. This was a mutual, verbal agreement, so I do not have anything written. The only things I do have is the receipt from money gram, a few text messages and some emails that I sent him demanding some sort of repayment. Do I have a chance in court if I do indeed sue him?

Yes - you have a chance. Sue him in small claims if you are eligible - it will depend what county you both are in. You may be able to find a guide to small claims court in North Carolina online. Otherwise sue him in district court. It could hinge on your testimony versus his.
