Re: Citizenship for Mexican Illegal Alien

In order to obtain citizenship it is necessary to first obtain permanent residence. In order to adjust status it is necessary to be "in status".

The two basic methods for adjustment are based upon: 1) relationship to a U.S. citizen and 2) relationship to a U.S. employer. The present illegal status will in all likelihood prevent adjustment of status while remaining in the U.S.

I would suggest that you contact an immigration attorney in your area. You need legal counsel.
