Legal Question in Immigration Law in North Carolina
My family and I are US citizens, my 20 year old has a girlfriend who is pregnant and not a US citizen, I am told she has a valid social security number. If he marries his girlfriend, does that mean that she and the baby will not be at risk for deportation
1 Answer from Attorneys
First of all, congratulations on the new baby! The baby will be born a US Citizen, and citizens can't be deported. As for your daughter-in-law's immigration status, several factors will affect how she may, or may not, be able to adjust her current status, or wether or not your son can file a petition. Like always, it's always best to consult with an immigration attorney before proceeding, since the options vary greatly, and depend on many, many factors.
