Legal Question in Immigration Law in North Carolina

I got fired on TN1 visa, Can I apply for B2 status change with in USA ? Or I must go to border with family to change to B2? Am I currently out of status?

There is no grace period for a TN, so you are out of status. You could attempt to re-enter as a visitor, but it will only give you 6 months max. Make sure you don't accrue 180 days of illegal presence or you won't be re-admitted to the U.S. for at least 3 yrs & you won't be able to adjust status.
