Legal Question in Immigration Law in North Carolina

My girlfriend (lives in Mexico) and I (live in US) want to get married next year, but we want to get married in Mexico. Her Tourist Visa expires February 13th, and we want to get married the 10th of February. Do you think we should get a Fiance Visa just to be safe? Or renew/extend her Tourist Visa? And is having a wedding in Mexico or US easier and better for her getting citizenship in the US eventually?

If you get married in the U.S., and you are a U.S. citizen, then your wife needs to remain in the U.S. & file for adjustment of status.

If you get married in Mexico, then she must remain there & consular process her immigrant visa.

Once you are married, she no longer qualifies for a fiance visa.

I would advise seeking legal representation so you don;'t make any mistakes that could jeopardize her prospective case.

Good luck!
