Legal Question in Immigration Law in North Carolina

I-485

Hi, I applied for I-485 for my wife on 9/1/04 at the local office in Charlotte, NC. How long is the normal wait before her application is approved? If her application is approved will I get a notification stating so? Just out of eagerness, are there any circumstances under which her application might not be approved? Thanks for your time and help.

No idea about SC but it usuallt takes a year or so. There are too many circumstances upon which a debnial can be based but most popular are: criminal history, sham marriage, previous order of deportation, and illegal entry. Good luck!
