Legal Question in Immigration Law in North Carolina

I am currently on L2 Visa. I hold Employment Authorization Document (EAD) which expires on 27th, January 2011. I have applied for the renewal of my EAD but still didnt recieve the renewed EAD.

I gave a call to USCIS regarding the case status and they informed it would take 2 more months to recieve the renewed EAD card.

I am currently working for a company as a Full Time Employee based on my EAD.

I informed them about the delay in my renewal and they accepted me to continue my employment even after my EAD expiry and the HR of my company informed me that she can provide me a mail proof stating that I can work further to my EAD expiry.

My questions are,

1) can i legally work after my EAD expiry if my company provides an exemption to me?

2) If i can legally work after my EAD expiry, will the mail from my company HR would suffice as a proof for employment continuity?

3) If that doesnt suffice, what else do i need to keep as proofs?

4) If i work with this exemption from my company now and later if i apply for Green Card or H1, will this anyway cause any problem for my Green Card/H1 approval?

Hi,

You cannot be legally employed after your EAD expires until you receive new EAD. There is no "exemption" available.

Unauthorized employment is a violation of your nonimmigrant visa status and can result in denial of adjustment of status in the future.
