Guest statute?
Does North Carolina have a Guest Statute, prohibiting guests in autos from suing the operator of the car they are in in the event of an accident?

No. A passenger can sue his driver for negligence of the driver. There is no common-law or statutory prohibition against this. (There are limited situations in which the passenger himself can be negligent, such as when he chooses voluntarily to ride with an intoxicated driver. In such a case, his own contributory negligence can bar his claim.)
