Insurance Contract Signature For Spouse

My wife and I recently purchased life insurance. The contracts needed to be ''resubmitted'' due to a change in the agent's name. On the resubmitted applications I signed for both my wife and I with her permission, due to her being out of town and for convenience. Was this legal?

I'll offer an educated guess. For a better answer you may want to consult a lawyer. I'd say that, assuming the information in the application is correct, that your signature is sufficient; you probably have apparent and actual authority to act for your spouse in that context, under the circumstances.
