Insurance Increase for Pending Speeding Ticket
I recently received a speeding ticket for 19mph over the speed limit. In between the day I received my ticket and my court date (which has yet to happen), my insurance came up for renewal. To my suprise, because I am under 25 years old, they have automatically increased my insurance costs as if I had been convicted. Is this legal for them to do? It seems like I am guilty until proven innocent. I have never been convicted of a driving violation before and I plan to contest this one.

I have never heard of that before. Generally speaking, the citation would not affect your rates until you are convicted. Perhaps someone with more experience with this can provide more information.
