changing child last namei

i need to kown how i can change my son last name

his father left him at 8 mo. old, his father is from mexico. (alien)

the last name my son have is not really his father last name. i don't know where his father is, i was 16 when my son was born. he have his father last name on the birth cer.

You could probably get a Judge to agree to the change if you could show that you have tried to locate the father ( to get his permission) but are unable to. Please contact an attorney in your area to find out what efforts to locate him would have to be made.
