If you left work to care for an ailing family member, ie - husband, child, parent, you are eligible to receive unemployment if you can show that the family member has a medical condition that causes him/her to be unable to care for themselves. You also had to have given your employer a reasonable notice before you quit.

If you have been denied benefits, you should contact an attorney immediately because you only have a few days to appeal the initial denial. If you have further questions about this, please feel free to contact me.
