Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina

Fired due to criminal background check after working for three months.

My son was hired at a reputable restaurant after disclosing the fact that he had a felony criminal record. They did background check after hiring. After Christmas, he was fired due to this check. He was praised for his good work and even put in long hours when others called in. He worked for them for three months. Does he have any legal recourse?

No, I don't think he has any legal recourse. Sorry, but it's an at-will state and employers don't even have to give a reason for the firing. Furthermore, there is no law protecting an employee from that kind of discrimination.
