Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina

Good morning,

I was hired by a principal to act as an agent to several 3rd party management companies. These 3rd party management companies are direct competitors to the principal company I was hired by so we keep the financial information separate from the principal.

Questions:

1. The principal keeps asking for financial information regarding accounts contracted and managed by the 3rd party companies. I refuse and say it is unethical for them to ask me about confidential information to them. a. Can I get fired by the principal if I continue to refuse?

b. If the 3rd party management companies found out I shared financial information with the principal, can they sue me as well as the prinicipal?

c. What legal recourse do I have if I get fired by the principal company?

d. Can I sue the prinicipal if they fire me and if so, on what grounds? Unethical business practices? Anything else?

e. As a principal company, do they have a right to make me share this financial information so they can steal the business?

This is really bothering me because I am not sure who I am to remain loyal to.

Any help you can offer by answering the questions above or any added input you'd like to share would be wonderful.

You desperately need to speak to an employment or business attorney. You have a lot of important questions and you need have the facts fleshed out to answer them. I don't understand how 4 competitors have employed one person...something fishy is afoot.
