Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina
I was guaranteed a position overseas in Afghanistan by a defense contracting company stateside, however, after I resigned my position in Kuwait, flew home, they told me they went into a hiring freeze and then lost their contract I was being hired for. They then told me to apply for other positions I was qualified to do, so I applied to 11 other jobs and they stopped contact with me. I have every email between them and myself and signed the employment offer, agreement and they even still have their names on my secret clearance right now almost a year later. Do I have a case to sue them for causing me stress, going into huge debt due to taxes and mental anguish? Or can I at least sue them to change the way they can make a promise, breach the contract by not hiring someone and have them fined for such practices? This has been the most horrible year of my life because of what they did to me. Thank You

If you signed a contract with them, then you need to speak to an employment attorney. You should speak to an attorney even if you didn't sign a contract yet, but it will be a much more difficult matter.
