Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina

I live in Florida and my prospective employer in North Carolina required a hair folicle drug test. When I got to the lab, they told me my hair was not long enough to use as a sample. I then called my prospective employer and they authorized a urine test, which I passed. Now said employer is telling me I must grow my hair out and pass another test once I'm already in North Carolina. Is this something they can legally do? I already passed a drug test, was offered the job and now feel that I'm being discriminated against. I'd appreciate any advise you can give me. Thanks!

This is not discrimination. Discrimination requires you being treated based on one of the protected classes (race, sex, religion, national origin, disability). Yes, employers can do this...but if you have incurred expenses such as moving or turning down other jobs, you may have claims for those losses if the employer is acting unreasonably. See an employment attorney in your area.
