Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina
Can you be terminated for an offense after you were suspended for a week for the said offense. The boss stated that he couldn't do to one what he didn't do to the other when the second person involved was suspended and then terminated. The first person got to go back to work after their suspension?

Unfortunately, NC is an at will work state. This means you can be fired for practically any reason other than discrimination...even if your termination was not fair. You should consult an employment attorney in your area if you feel discrimination played a part in your termination
