Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina
I was out of work for 3 months due to an injury and have worked 3 months. I still can't do steps and ladders. My current job doesn't really require it. I was given another job this week after 13 years. Someone else wanted mine. Due to missing training during my time out and no follow up with my managers, I was told that I did not excell in one area of my job. The new job entails steps, weight and ladders. A man normally does this job. I can't do it. My company and HR tells me to do it, go on short term or leave. I had no note stating I could not do steps etc. I only told them verbally and they say I did not. No one asked me how I was doing. I went to the doctor to get an evaluation and see what my options were and he put me on 6 weeks of pt and off work.for short term disability. If I still can't do this job after I get back I know they will let me go. They are not happy I am out now. It may take up to a year to get my broken knee cap ready for everything that I have do there. Help.
