Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in North Carolina
60 day notice
My roomate and I are planning to vacate the appartment complex where we live, and move to a different location. We neglected to give them the 60-day notice required. Now they are requiring us to pay month-to-month rates. We have been tenants with excellent payment history for three consecutive years. Is there any way to get out of this lease when it ends (Feb. 17, 2006) without having to pay the month-to-month rate through March?
