Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in North Carolina

landlord sold house we still have a lease till april but they wont us to sign with new owners and sign one that says they are not our landlords no more

There is no requirement that you sign a new lease unless there is a provision in the old one that requires this (a provision that I have personally never seen).
