My mom has a friend living in her house she wants her friend to leave because they can no longer help finiacial they have no contract or legal agreement as to bill is there in time period for eviction that she has to wait for in the state of North Carolina?

Under that law it is safest for her to give a 10 day notice for him/her to leave. If after that 10 days has come and gone and he/she is still there, your mom will then go a file for eviction in small claims court. Make sure to keep a copy of the notice that was sent.
