Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in North Carolina

I recently moved from my apartment to a new apartment. I paid the full month of June rent. I completed my 1 year lease and gave a 30 day notice. I am getting my security deposit back but I was told I could not get back the 2 weeks I paid that I am not living there. Please advise.

Unfortunately, this is legal. If I understood you, you said you completed the lease and paid the full moth of rent and moved out before the end of the month. You still had the legal right to reside there, even if you didn't. The landlord may refund some money(many will), but he/she is not required to.
